Orbley James Ramsey of Decatur, IL was born in April of 1932 in Tilden, IL to Orbley O. and Jessie Ramsey. On

A celebration of his life will be held at Galilee Baptist Church on Friday, November 18, 2016 with a visitation from
10 AM to 12 Noon and funeral and graveside services immediately following. Memorials may be made to Galilee
Baptist Church. Tanzyus Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of arrangements.
Orbley worked hard for his family all of his life as a truck driver, millwright and a Southern Baptist Minister. In his
younger years he loved to bowl, roller skate, high dive and play baseball. As his years passed, more than anything
he loved his family, his church family, and spending time with his grandkids.
Orbley was survived by his loving bride of 64 years, Shirley A. Ramsey; their five children, Debra and James Kepler
of Florida, Orbley and Brenda Ramsey of Kentucky, Diana and Kevin Nicholls of Niantic, Lyle Ramsey of
California, and Dean and Carol Ramsey of Decatur; his nephew Michael Simpkins and his son Darin; thirteen
Grandchildren; eighteen Great Grandchildren, and one Great Great Granddaughter. He is also survived by one
brother, Edward Ramsey, and two sisters, Thelma Miller and Violet McQuern, and many other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and his grandson, John Ramsey.
