James (Jimmy) B. Edwards of Decatur, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2016, at Decatur Memorial
Jim was born in September of 1949, in Decatur, Illinois, the son of Floyd and Mary Edwards. He worked at Newman
Ullman for thirty plus years. He also worked as a school bus driver for First Student. He was the biggest St. Louis
Cardinals fan and loved few things more than cheering them on to victory. Jimmy was a big man with a big heart
who truly enjoyed making people laugh with his stories, quick wit, and numerous expressions.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at 3 pm at Macon County Memorial Park with Pastor
Mitch Flesch officiating.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Rawlings (Jeff Skubal) of Forsyth, Illinois; and sons, Brian (Sarah) Edwards of
Indianapolis, Indiana; Keith Brown of Decatur, Illinois; and Jeff Brown (Shelly) of Decatur, Illinois; and sisters,
Rose Robb of Bloomington, Illinois; Joyce Curtis of Wheeler, Illinois; Jean Graham of Palmdale, California. He is
also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Skip Duckworth; nephews Andrew and Matthew
Duckworth, and many other nieces and nephews.
Jim was an outstanding Papa to his 4 grandchildren, Dylan and Hunter Rawlings of Forsyth, Illinois; and Jacob and
Madelaine Edwards of Indianapolis, Indiana. Both parents, two brothers, and one sister preceded him in death. His
love of his life who he dearly missed, Marie, also preceded him in death.
He left a major impression on all that he met, and will be greatly missed by his entire family and many, many friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at Decatur Memorial Hospital for the care the provided over the summer.
