Margaret Dwyer Mendenall went to be with her Lord on Friday, September 18, 2015.
Peg was born in June of 1960 to Margaret Dwyer and Daniel P. Dwyer, in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. She was a joyful, mischievous child and the star of many family
tales which she loved hearing as much as we loved telling them.
She earned her Early Childhood Education degree from Southern Illinois University, and her adult life was spent surrounded by the babies, toddlers, and
preschoolers she taught and loved. Peg realized her dream when she opened Angel Haven Christian Preschool in her home in 2010. Her expertise in her field
and her abiding faith influenced countless families.
Her greatest joy, and deepest pride, came from her children, Aaron and Zoe. She loved hearing about their days, participating in their activities, sharing
dozens of inside jokes, and attending church with them. They amazed and delighted her every day, and she could not have been more proud of the kind,
loving young adults they have become.
She was an extraordinarily kind, thoughtful, and loving sister, and a doting aunt to her beloved nieces and nephew.
Peg’s membership in First Christian Church was another source of abundant joy. She faced her illness with confidence that God’s hand was on her. The faith
and support of her church family meant the world to her.
She is survived by her children, Aaron Mendenall and Zoe Mendenall, of Decatur;
sisters Ellen Dwyer Meinhardt of Springfield and Kathleen Dwyer Carl of Carterville; nieces, Alexandra Carl, Selina Carl. Molly Meinhardt; nephew, Jake
Meinhardt, and dozens of close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel P. and Margaret Dwyer.
A Prayer Service to celebrate Peg’s life will be held Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at First Christian Church in Decatur, beginning at 5:00 p.m., with a
visitation immediately following. Memorial contributions for Peg’s children may be made to an account in her name at Soy Capital Bank in Decatur. Tanzyus
Logan Funeral Service & Care is in charge of arrangements.
