Frances Joan Minton
1931 - 2015

Frances Joan (Fran) Minton went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ while surrounded by her family in her home on Monday, July 13, 2015, after a
courageous battle with cancer.

Fran was born in December of 1931 in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of Clara M. and Anthony J. Wolke.

Fran attended Decatur Public Schools, and later graduated from Decatur High School in 1949. She then attended Millikin University. She was married to
Donald E. Minton in September of 1954.

Fran worked for General Finance Loan Company, for the Decatur Public School System as an Aide at Sunnyside School, and co-owned/managed the            
Sun Valley Swim Club. She did considerable volunteer work for the Salvation Army, the Historical Society, Meals on Wheels, and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church
during their rebuilding project. After retirement, she enjoyed wintering in the south with her husband, Don. She also enjoyed collecting antiques, and
spending time with her family.

Fran is survived by her husband, Don; son, Michael A. Minton and spouse, Judy, of Decatur; her daughters, Pamela M. Minton, and spouse Kelly, of          
Punta Gorda, Florida; Linda C. Mendenhall, of Decatur; Sandra K. McCune, and her spouse Tim, of Port Byron; seven grandchildren and step-grandchildren;
and five great grandchildren and step- great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son, Daniel, and sister, Carolyn Hammerstrom.

A Service to Celebrate Fran’s life will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2015, at 11:30 a.m., at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, #1 Bachrach Court, Decatur, Illinois.
Visitation will be held Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her service, also in the church. Pastor Doug Bender will officiate. Burial will take
place in Point Pleasant Cemetery in Long Creek. If desired, memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church “NEXT” Campaign, Salvation Army of
Decatur, Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois, or charity of choice. Tanzyus Logan Funeral Service & Care is in charge of arrangements.
