Stephen Paul Boltz

Stephen Paul Boltz, 63 of Rochester (formerly of Decatur) passed peacefully at 6:07 am Saturday, May 23, 2015, at home with his loving wife Jackie by his

Steve was born  in June of 1951, son of Ernest and Lucille (Meyer) Boltz of Decatur.  Graduate of Stephen Decatur High School (’69) and Millikin University
(‘76), where he was a member of the golf team and Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity.  He married Barbara Jean Hendrian of Decatur, in October of 1973, who
preceded him in death in July of 2004.  He married Jackie Fothergill of Rochester, in November of 2006; she survives.

He is also survived by son David (Claire) of Downers Grove, IL, daughter Jennifer (Chris) Grote of Bowling Green, MO, stepdaughter Nicole (Richard) Ogelsby
of Decatur, Erin (Roger) Slightom of Spaulding.  Grandchildren Henry and Patrick Boltz, Aiden and Jocelyn Grote, Gretchen and Meredith Ogelsby, and Isaac,
Oliver, Amelia and Quinn Gaddis/Slightom, in-laws Helen (Roger) Klaska, Vickie (Eric) Bagenski, Don (Carol) Hendrian, Karen (Bob) Martin, Debbie (Henry)
Henderson, Julie Beerli and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Patricia Lynn, and grandson Zander Slightom.

Steve was a lifelong active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.  He was an avid golfer, enjoyed coaching his children in sports, woodworking, grilling and
took great pride in his yard.  He was a lifelong friend and brother, devoted husband, loving father and grandfather and family weatherman.

Visitation Friday 5-7 pm, May 29 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Decatur.  Funeral service Saturday, May 30, 2015, at 11 am.  Burial will be at Macon County
Memorial Park, Harristown, IL, Tanzyus-Logan is in charge of arrangement.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family to be designated towards
a future dedication in Steve’s name or to the American Liver Foundation.
