Ronald Lee Tucker, Sr., 75, of Decatur, passed away at 10:25 a.m., Friday, May 1, 2015, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, with his family by his side.
A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at Heartland Community Church, 3253 Brush College, Decatur.
Pastor Joe Bowman will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 5, from 4 – 7 p.m., also in the church. Burial will take place at Graceland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the family. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service & Care is in charge of arrangements.
Ronnie was born in April of 1940, in Decatur, the son of Richard A. and Betty J. Hunt. Ronnie married Carol Aubert in 1967. They shared 23 years together.
Carol survives. Ronnie was a member of the Local Labor Union 159. He worked for GE, and then Jenkins Automotive for over 30 years. His lifelong passion
was dirt track racing. He was a hard worker, yet he always had a smile on his face, even throughout his illness.
Ronnie is survived by his children: Michael Tucker (fiancée Barbara Howell) of Springfield, Belinda Watts (fiancée Terry Reed) of Decatur, Dustin Tucker of
Decatur; grandchildren: Brandon Watts (Sarah), Destiny Tucker; and great grandchildren, Emma Watts and Brayden. Siblings: Diana (Jon) Coombs of Forsyth;
Roberta Beiler of Decatur; Stepbrother, Robert (Lola) Snell, of Georgetown; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends. Ronnie was a father-figure
to Sharon, Peggy, Terri, Bill, and Jerri.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Ronald Jr., and two brothers: Billy Tucker, and Bobby Tucker.
