Beryl F. Johnson, 93 of Decatur, died at 1:25 pm. Wednesday April 29, 2015 in Heritage Manor, Mt. Zion.
A Graveside service to celebrate his life will be 11:00 am. Saturday May 2, 2015 at Graceland Cemetery with the Macon County Honor Guard providing
Military Honors. There will be no public visitation. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.
Beryl was born in February of 1922 in McLeansboro, IL, son of Benjamin F. and Vesta Johnson. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII . Beryl was an
electrician at Caterpillar Inc. and was an avid golfer. He married Jacqueline Fisher in November of 1946. She preceded him in death in August of 2012.
Surviving are his sons, Michael (Carol) Johnson of Collierville, TN, Stephen (Pamela) Johnson of Decatur, grandchildren, Kristin (Benjamin) Lincoln of
Woodstock, GA, Rebecca Hannaman of Memphis, TN, Nicole Johnson of Palo Alto, CA, Lori (Dr. Richard) McCann of Atlanta, GA, Michelle Johnson of
Mattoon, IL, seven great grandchildren, brother, H.D. Johnson of McLeansboro, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother, Glen “Jack” Johnson.
The family wishes to thank the Heritage Manor Nursing Home and Staff, the Nurses and the CNA’s, for all their kindness and care of Beryl during his stay there.
