Delbert Wayne Hamm, Sr., 51, of Maroa, joined his mother in heaven at 9:54 p.m., Thursday, April 16, 2015, at Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur.
Delbert was born in April of 1964, the son of Charles and Frieda Hamm. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan, and enjoyed playing video games and watching
cartoons with his kids. Delbert enjoyed family get-togethers. He proudly served his country in the United States Army for 3 years. He married his soul mate,
Ann, in May of 2003. They loved spending time together and shared almost 13 years with one another as best friends.
Along with his wife, Shirley “Ann”, Delbert is survived by his children: Jerry McLeary; Delbert Hamm, Jr.; Natalie Hamm; and his siblings: Rick (Brenda)
Hamm of Litchfield; Bob Hamm of TX; Roger Hamm of MO; David (Thelma) Hamm of Blue Mound; Doug (Toni) Hamm of Chesterfield; 6 stepbrothers;
several nieces and nephews; one granddaughter; and one grandfather, Clayborn Wallis of Planeview; and countless friends.
Delbert was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Gerald Conner.
A family-led memorial service Celebrating his life will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Maroa Christian Church, 430 E. Main St., Maroa.
