James C. Lewis, 62, of Decatur, passed on March 2, 2015, with his loving family and friends by his side, at Decatur Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.
Born in Decatur in June of 1952, Jimmy was the son of Earl and Patricia Lewis. He married Janet Poe in 1970, and she survives. He retired from the Decatur
School District. He was an avid car enthusiast and Coke memorabilia collector. Jimmy loved the Chicago Bears and the St. Louis Cardinals. He enjoyed
coaching his wife’s and daughter’s softball teams.
Along with his loving wife Janet K. Lewis of Decatur, Jimmy is survived by his daughter Rebecca (James) Cook of Shelbyville; grandchildren: Bailey, Vaughn,
and Mikey Cook, all of Shelbyville; his faithful companion, Olivia; one sister, Lynn Sumpter of Decatur; and several nieces and nephews.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Danny E. Lewis.
Cremation arrangements have been made with the help of Tanzyus Logan Funeral Service and Care. A private celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Jimmy was a great husband, father, and grandfather. Jimmy’s family was always his main concern, and his love will be dearly missed.
