Betty Jean Meador
1932 - 2015

Betty Jean Meador, 82 of Decatur went home to be with the Lord on Saturday,   February 14, 2015. She died at home due to heart failure.

Funeral services celebrating Betty’s life will be Friday, February 20th at 11:00 am. at the West Decatur Church of God (4500 West Main) Decatur, IL. 62522,
with sons, David and Randy Meador officiating. Graveside services will follow at the Macon County Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be                               
5:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, February 19th at the church.  Memorials may be made to the West Decatur Church of God. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and
Care is in charge of the arrangements.

Betty was born in July of 1932 in Warrensburg the daughter of George and Pearl Lowe. She married the love of her life, Archie Lyle Meador Jr. in August of
1949 in Warrensburg, Illinois. She was a member of the West Decatur Church of God in Decatur where she faithfully served as Treasurer for over 50 years,
and helped in many other areas. Betty and Lyle were also gifted musically and sang together over the years at various churches.

Surviving is her best friend and husband, Lyle, of 65 years; children Jeanie Greenwalt (Dave) of Bryon, OH; David Meador (Judy) of Walkersville, MD; Randy
Meador (Sheila) of Moweaqua; Jeff Meador of Gilbert AZ; Lyle Meador (Kamie) of Oreana; and Noel Meador of Decatur, brother, Steve Lowe of Decatur.Betty
loved spending time with all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She leaves behind to cherish precious memories thirty grandchildren, twenty-six
great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents; brothers, Staley, Stan, Larry, Gary, Wilbur, George, Don and Danny; sisters, Iona and Melba.

Betty never met a stranger and was a friend to many. She was full of life and a very animated lady, giving her family lots of joy and laughter over the years. She
adored her family and treasured all of her many children and grandchildren. She was a lady greatly loved and she will be greatly missed.
