Richard Berry Traywick, 68, of Decatur died 8:16 p.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2015 in Decatur Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.
Memorial service celebrating Richard’s life will be Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church beginning at 3:30 pm. Rev. Dan Spruell
will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to service time, also at the church. Memorials to Richard’s family to help with expenses. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral
Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.
Richard was born in January of 1947 in Ft. Worth, Texas son of William Sellers and Mary Nell Traywick. He was adopted and raised by his grandparents,
Marvin and Muddie Traywick. Richard served in the U.S. Navy from 1964 to 1966. He retired from the State of Illinois Department of Corrections as
Supervisor of Food Services in Decatur, IL. He married Tammy Tapp in February of 2003.
Surviving are his wife, Tammy; daughters: Davye (Wes) Grissom of Hattiesburg, MS. and Stacey (Brian) Simpson of New Albany, MS; son: Christopher
(Chelsea) Tapp of East Peoria, IL.; brothers: Marvin Traywick of Witchata Falls, TX and Steve (Pam) Traywick of White Settlement, TX.; nine grandchildren,
seven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, son; Craig Allen Traywick, brothers; Bill Tom Traywick and Jerry Wayne Traywick , great
granddaughter; Anniston Jade Harlow.
Richard was a great Husband, Father, “PaPa”, Brother and Friend and he will be deeply missed.
