Sandy Kay Casey
1946- 2015
Sandra Kay (Poole) Casey   "Sandi", 68,   of Decatur,IL  went to be with the Lord at 10:57 p.m. on Tuesday,  January 20th 2015.    She passed away in her
residence surrounded by her family.    

Sandi was born in October of 1946 in Decatur , IL. The daughter of Joseph Harold Poole and Lilly Mae Borders.

Sandi was a graduate of Illiopolis High School in 1964, then graduated from Laura Halford Beauty Academy 1965. She took pride in being a homemaker until
her four children were raised. She then received a degree in medical records/transciption with honors of Phi Theta Kappa in 1992. She went to work at St.
Marys Hospital in the medical records department then later joined the DMH group in physicians billing for 15 years. She was very dedicated to her work.
She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She was an avid reader and gardener. She was a long time member of St. James Catholic where she
volunteered her time and services.  

Married Larry Keith Casey on May 1, 1965 of that marriage four children were born.  
She was a caring, selfless, strong soul and her light will shine through her children: Todd Casey (Georgina Caballero) of Tucson, Az. ; Angie(Casey) Schmahl
(Karl Harris) of Decatur IL.; Shawn Casey (Lisa) of Decatur IL.; Tonya (Casey)  Feller (Bryan) of Decatur IL. and grandchildren: Ryan Casey of Tucson, Az.,
Lauren Nicholls of Decatur, IL.,Taylor Casey of St. Charles, IL., Morgan and Rylie Casey of Decatur, IL.,  Maddie Schmahl of Decatur, IL., and Ashton Feller
of Decatur, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Mae Poole and many aunts and uncles.

Sandi will be greatly missed by her friends and family as she has touched us all.

Family will have a celebration of her life privately. There will be a memorial mass dedicated in her  name which will be held at St. Patricks Church at a later

The family would like to thank Dr. Valesco and his team at the Cancer Care Specialists for their excellent care that was given.  They all treated her like family.  
They would also like to thank her DMH co-workers who helped support her through these tough times.  As well as, Sandy LeBeane from DMH Pallative and
Hospice care who was a special blessing.

Memorials may be made to Cancer Care Specialists of Central IL.  Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of arrangements.
