John Marlyn Paradee, 83 of Decatur died 10:15 a.m. Thursday January 15, 2015 at McKinley Court Nursing Home with his family by his side.
Funeral service celebrating John’s life will be at 12:00 noon Monday January 19, 2015 at Central Christian Church (650 West William Street Decatur, IL.
62522) with Rev. Don Martin officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:30 to service time on Monday also at the church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery with
Military Rites by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to the Central Christian Church or the Central A&M JFL. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral
Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.
John was born in July of 1931 in Oakley Township, IL., the son of Irville and Ina Paradee. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1948 to 1952. John worked in the
Tin Shop at Mueller Company as a Sheet Metal Worker. He had a passon for Stock and Sprint Car Racing. He enjoyed bowling and was an avid motorcyclist.
John married Alice Evelyn Mansholt in January of 1952 in Maryland.
Surviving are his wife; Alice Paradee, of Decatur, son; Jerry (Susan) Paradee of Moweaqua, grandchildren; Jason (Suzanne) Paradee, Joseph (Lindsay)
Paradee, Lori (Adam) Puckett, great grandchildren; Bridget, Tate, Jacob, Eric, James, Holly, Kinley and Madison.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother; Charles and sister; Mary.
John was a great husband, father and grandfather, and he will be deeply missed.
