Bruce Edward Rudow
1940 - 2018

Bruce Edward Rudow went on to be with Jesus, April 21, 2018.  He was born  in June of
1940 in Decatur, Illinois.

A home going celebration will be held Sunday, April 29th at 4 pm at Resurrection Life
Church, 1085 West McKinley, Decatur, Illinois, Pastor Doug Rudow officiating.  Visitation
one hour before and an early birthday party for Bruce at 6 pm at Donnie’s Pizza in Decatur.
Tanzyus Logan Funeral Service and Care is assisting the family with the arrangements.

After Bruce’s ’58 Decatur High graduation he left for New York to attend the Traphagen
School of Fashion where he studied Interior Design. In the late 60’s and 70’s he became a
successful fashion designer appearing in Vogue, Bazaar and many other publications.  One
of his many models was Twiggy.  There he was a close friend with many famous people, his
best friend, David Johansen of the New York Dolls, Sylvian Sylvian, Jimi Hendrix, Janis
Joplin, including artist Andy Warhol where he appeared in one of his first films, “The 13
Most Beautiful Boys” and a cameo on “Midnight Cowboy” staring Jon Voight and Dustin
Hoffman.  Singer Patty Smith writes about him in her book “Just Kids” where she credits
him for her start.

None of this was in comparison to his return to Decatur to raise his son, Tiavi whom he
loved dearly.  He lived a life of limitless love and was a friend to all.  He wanted everyone to
know about his precious Jesus and his unconditional love for each of them.

He was preceded in passing by his parents, Walter Edward Rudow and Gwendolyn  Rudow,
the love of his life Ronna Page Schwartz, mother of his only child.  Surviving is his son,
Tiavi Blade Rain Rudow; sister, Rene (Jim) Birge; brother Douglas (Carla) Rudow and many
(great) nieces and nephews.
