Kenneth Moore “Jack” Tabor 89 of Cisco, Illinois died Monday, April 2, 2018 in
Barnes Hospital St. Louis, Missouri.

Funeral service to celebrate Jack’s life will be 10:00 am. Monday, April 9, 2018 at the
Oreana Christian Church, with Pastor Dan Perry officiating. Visitation will be 3:00
to 5:00 pm. Sunday, April 8, 2018 also at the church. Burial will be in Monticello
Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Oreana Christian Church (500 West South
Street Oreana, Illinois 62554). Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge
of the arrangements.

Jack was born in January of 1929 in rural Monticello, Illinois the son of Frank and Ruby
Tabor. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1946 at the age of seventeen. He was stationed
in Okinawa and on Guam. He received an honorable discharge as a Corporal. He married
Martha Gean Williams in June of 1949. He worked for the Illinois Central Railroad.
Following the railroad he worked at General Cable in Monticello and retired
as a stalcore operator. During this time he also constructed homes for Swift Homes in
Decatur. Jack was an aluminum building products applicator. He fully retired to be a
devoted caregiver at home for his wife until her passing. Jack was an avid reader of
factual information. His hobbies included electronics, fishing, hunting, recording music.
Surviving are his children, Dwaine and Jane Tabor of Port Huron, Michigan, Jackie
Tabor Goleaner of Decatur, daughter-in-law, Laurel Cripe of Monticello, former son-in-
law, Mike Downey of Monticello, eight grandchildren and twenty one great

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Randy, one great grandchild and a
special friend.

The family will truly miss him and his laughter.
