Jon Doug Timmons
1957 - 2017

To the Family
c/o Scott State Bank, Niantic, Illinois

On Thursday evening 11/2 Jon (Doug) Timmons received a call, an offer of sorts that you can’t refuse, for an
appointment from which he will not be returning. We were blessed to have spent 60 years enjoying his company. In that
time, we have all learned many valuable lessons from Doug, among them:

1. Show up - Your presence is more important than anything that you say or do. Doug showed up for his family and
friends. There was not a thing that we asked of him that he would not do. He was selfless, even to his own detriment at
times. 2. Laugh - Doug laughed at a lot of awful jokes. Seriously, it took very little to get a wheezing, belly laugh out of
him.  He simply enjoyed the presence of those that he loved, and that joy overflowed into laughter, even when he was
the only one laughing. 3. Your story is not over - Doug’s life was one of several unique chapters, with peaks and valleys.
Your past does not define you nor does it prevent you from being the man or woman that God has called you to be. His
legacy is one of selflessness and generosity. Life goes on and our routine will settle back in without him…It would just be
a lot more fun if he were still around.

Surviving is his wife Julie Timmons, son James Timmons, grandson Kalob Timmons, granddaughter Brooklyn Calvert,
siblings Joe Timmons, Nancy Timmons, Sandy (Tyler) Lyon, Linda Timmons, Mike (Wanda) Timmons, and eleven
nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lovena and Wayne Timmons, brothers Tommy and Tony and sister Terry.

Graveside services for will be at Long Point Cemetery in Niantic, Illinois on Tuesday, 11/7 at 2 PM followed by a
celebration of life at Timmons Trucking, Warrensburg.  All are welcome to both.  Memorials can be made to the family
at Scott State Bank, Niantic, Illinois.
