John O. Hooker
1938 - 2017

John O. Hooker, 78 and my beloved husband of 28 years left this earth free of pain stress and worry on January
20th to a better place with God and will be waiting for me and his other loved ones. I am sure he has eaten as many
sweets as possible and is fishing with Bill Perkins who beat him there.

John leaves his love and memories to his children and their families, Robin and George and Dylan, Dalton and
Lydia, Tammy and Mark and Will and Brett and to Jen. He was a father to my daughters as well, Amy and Mark and
his special “Toadie” (Joe) and Megan and Bill, Emma and Ben and to our two cats Flossy and Lily who miss him and
his lap.

He worked at MVSS for over twenty years and at True Value now Ace for twenty years.

I want to give my heartfelt thanks to all the special people who cared for him in IMC and ICU the last ten days, and
to Sue who kept me in coffee and meals to keep me going, and to Father John and Sister who prayed with us daily. I
will sing your praises daily.

I thank my dear neighbors Judy and Joe and Erin and Bill and Pat and my bosses at Ace and my coworkers who
enabled me to be at my husband’s side thru all of this for covering the paint desk and you too “Boo”.

John was the very best husband for me and best friend and I know God brought us together to be a “forever love.”

John will be cremated and there will be no services. A private family memorial mass will be held next week at St.
Patrick Church. Memorials may be made to Cats Only, Decatur , Illinois. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care
is assisting the family. Please sign the guestbook at

“All of God’s special gifts and blessings will someday come to an end but… Love goes on forever.” Honey you will
always be my sunshine and I will keep you in my heart forever until we can hug again. You may now light your cigar
and hope God looks the other way!
I love you
