Helen Lucille Clark, 89, of Decatur, died peacefully on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.  
Born April 9, 1927 in Wheeler, IL, she was the daughter of the late James and Bessie Stroud.  She was preceded
in death by three husbands, the late Delmar Davis, James Wagner, and Paul Clark.

Helen was the owner of the former Ed’s Record Shop, located on North Water Street in Decatur, for almost 40
years.  She was fondly known by her many regular customers as “Miss Ed.”  She supplied most of the juke boxes
in and around Decatur, and sponsored numerous Country Music concerts throughout the years, featuring artists
such as George Jones, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, Porter Wagner, Faron Young, Kitty Wells, Sonny James,
Marty Stewart, Minnie Pearl, and Grandpa Jones, to name but a few.  She loved to travel and was a regular visitor
to Fan Fair in Nashville, Tennessee for many years.  Helen was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in
Decatur.  She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.  She had a great sense of humor and a fairly strong opinion on
most topics.  She enjoyed playing cards and BINGO, and spending time with her family and friends.  

Surviving are daughters, Darlene Hurst and husband Larry of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, Judy Meador and husband
Dave of Finksburg, Maryland, and Jeanie Clendenen of Decatur; grandchildren, Shelli Wolfe of Mt. Juliet,
Tennessee, Jennifer Ballas and husband Chris of Westminster, Maryland, Jarrod Montgomery of Decatur, Juli
Butler and husband Vince of Georgetown, Texas, Vicki Harris and husband Jed of Westminster, Maryland, and
Eric Clendenen of Decatur; fourteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces,
nephews, and cousins.  She was predeceased by grandson, Dylan Underwood; and all nine of her siblings, Jesse,
Everett, Harvey, Earl, and Dale Stroud, Susie Yoder, Dorie Eversman, Eva Bond, and Annabelle Brown.

A memorial service to celebrate Helen’s life will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 26, 2016 at the West Decatur
Church of God, 4500 W. Main St., Decatur, IL with her son-in-law, the Rev. David Meador officiating.  Interment
will be private at Macon County Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until the time of the
service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Decatur Memorial Hospital Hospice, 2300 N. Edward St.,
Decatur, IL, 62526.  Arrangements have been entrusted to TANZYUS-LOGAN FUNERAL SERVICE AND CARE in
