Lloyd Carlin Tripp, 89, of Decatur passed away Monday, May 16, 2016, at home with his family by his side.
Lloyd was born in June of 1926, son of Dewey and Retha Tripp. He met Barbara and it was love at first sight.
They married in December of 1944. He then joined the Navy where he served his country in World War II. He
retired from Huss and Schleipers in June of 1991 and loved to tinker in his shed doing small engine repairs. He
and Barbara did a lot of traveling after his retirement.
He was very devoted to his family-his pride and joy was his great grandson Wesley. He will be greatly missed.
Lloyd leaves behind his dear wife of seventy-one years Barbara Tripp of Decatur, granddaughter, Sarah (Tony)
Tudor of Decatur, granddaughter, Christina Luka of Long Creek, great grandsons, Wesley Luka, Gauge Luka-
Pasisinic, and Colton Tudor, great granddaughter, Hollie Adams, and great-great granddaughter Raelynn.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, son Lloyd “Butch” Tripp and daughter, Cynthia Luka.
There will be no public services. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is assisting the family.
The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses that took care of him with special thanks to Dr. Addai’s
office, the sixth floor staff at St. Mary’s (with special thanks to Jean) McKinley Court, Davita Dialysis, Harbor Light
Hospice and fourth floor infusion (with special thanks to Brenda). Thanks to all those who “adopted” him as their
grandpa! He was truly blessed.
