James Lee “Jim” Osborn, 80 of Decatur went to be with his God at 11:00 am Wednesday May 11, 2016 from
McKinley Court Nursing Home.
Funeral service celebrating Jim’s life will be at 11:00 Saturday May 14, 2016 at First Christian Church with Pastor
Wayne Kent officiating. Visitation will be two hours before service time at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may
be made to the family or to First Christian Church. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the
Jim was born in August of 1935 in Decatur the son of Earl and Leah Osborn. He worked for Christy Foltz and was a
member of the Local Concrete Finishers Union.
Jim enjoyed horseback riding and was a member of POA. Known as the tomato man, Jim loved his garden. He was a
member of First Christian Church. Jim married Peggy in May of 1963.
Surviving are his wife Peggy, children, William Osborn of Tennessee, Tony Osborn of Decatur, Lisa Osborn of
Decatur, grandsons, JW and RJ Trostle of Decatur, sister, Carol (Lewis) Bray of Decatur, best buddy and card
player, Ellie Witts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.
Besides Peggy, the joy of Jim’s life was his grandsons JW and RJ.
