|Charles Luther Ryan Jr., 86, passed away, at Tri-County Extended Care Center, in Fairfield, OH. Formerly of Decatur, he went to be with his Lord, and Savior,
Jesus Christ, Friday, December 11th, 2015.
Graveside services, will be held, Wednesday, December 16th at 2:00pm at Graceland Cemetery.
Charles was born in August of 1929, to Gladys and Charles L. Ryan Sr., in Decatur. He graduated from Stephen Decatur High School, and went on to proudly
serve his country, fighting in the Korean conflict, through the Vietnam war, for a total of 26 years. As an expert marksman, he served on the Army's Rifle and
Pistol team during the '60's, winning more trophy's than Sue and the kids wanted to dust. He was married almost 34 years, to Carolyn Sue Davis of Decatur,
until her death in 1989.
He is survived by daughter Kathy (Greg) Allsop of Decatur, sons, Jeffrey L. (Joya) Ryan, of Decatur, and Doug (Laurie) Ryan, also, of Fairfield, who was dad's
only family member there, and his right-hand. He has two grandchildren, Chris (Erin) Wright of Mt. Zion, and Catie Wright, of Homer Glen, IL., and three great
grandsons, Harrison, Liam, and Lennox Wright.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and youngest son Mark.
The family wishes to thank the staff at T-C.E.C.C., for their wonderful care, especially Andrea, LPN, and Hospice nurses, Donna, Delta and Becky.
