Loretta Kerr White, of Decatur died at 4:30 am. Sunday September 27, 2015 in Imboden Creek Living Center.
Funeral service will be 11:30 am. Thursday October 1, 2015 at Christ United Methodist Church 1503 N. Summit Decatur, IL, with Pastor Kelly Cox officiating.
Visitation will be from 10 am. Until service time on Thursday also at the church. Burial will be in Long Point Cemetery Niantic, IL. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral
Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements. The family request casual attire.
Loretta was born in December of 1924 in Illiopolis, IL, to Stewart & Velma Kerr of Niantic. She married Lloyd A. White in January of 1943 on Kearns Air
Force Base in Utah. Lloyd passed away in May of 1995. To their marriage were born 3 children; Ronald L. White of Decatur, Carol Ann White Brown (Larry) of
Blue Mound and Duane A. White (Bobbi) of Macon. Leaving several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Loretta attended Decatur High School. She worked on Kearns Air Force Base for 2 years. She lived in Lincoln, IL, and worked for Stetson China and Lehn &
Fink Cosmetics. She moved to Decatur in 1956 and worked for the Herald & Review, retiring after 20 years in 1970. After retirement she volunteered at
DOVE working on their news letter.
Loretta enjoyed Elvis, Bingo, Gambling, Card Playing, Camping, Boating, Traveling, Fishing and Hunting all of which Lloyd and Loretta did together.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, mother-in-law, Elizabeth White, sister, Margaret Burchett, brother, Everette Kerr, daughter in law, Sonja
White, grand daughter in law, Angie White and special friend, Bill Martin.
Loretta attended Christ United Methodist Church and requested memorials be made to the church or DOVE.
