Thomas Clark Allen, 71, of Decatur, passed away peacefully at 10:40 p.m., Thursday, August 20, 2015, at Aperion Care in Decatur, with his daughter by his

Tom was born in December of 1943, in Chicago, the son of Edwin and Alberta Allen. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force. He attended Eastern
Illinois University at Charleston. Before retiring he worked as owner/operator of the Painting Company of Decatur. He married Peggy Dean on August 9,
1974. She survives. Tom was an avid NASCAR fan. He supported his great nephews, Kurt and Kyle Busch, even following them through both of their careers.
Tom cherished his grandkids, and he spent his life making sure he was the best grandpa he could possibly be.
Along with his wife, Peggy, of 41 years, Tom is survived by his children: Douglas Mason (Nancy), Andrew Mason, Terri Arney (husband, Jeremiah); five
grandchildren; six great grandchildren; siblings: Sally Allen, Robert Allen (wife, Sue), Patty Wilson, Jane Allen, Nancy Allen, Frank Allen (wife, Paula); and
many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Edwin Allen, Jr., and one grandson, Matthew Mason.
Tom was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, and he will be deeply missed. The family would like to thank the staff at Aperion and Safe Harbor for
the special care and kindness they gave to Dad.
