Judy Annette Acklin, 79, died on Thursday, May 21, 2015.
She was born to the late Rev. Jarrett and Rev. Helen Bailey in January of 1936, in Spring Hill, West Virginia. In 1951, Judy married the love of her life, Ralph,
and were inseparable for nearly all of their 64 years of marriage. She joined Ralph in making Decatur her home. Judy centered her life on her family and the
Second Church of God community in Decatur. She was blessed with two children that were her world. In addition to raising her kids and two nephews for a
time, she was a member of the PTA and worked at JC Penney full time for 35 years. She travelled as often as possible, from Honolulu to Anchorage to Orlando
and countless places in between. For Judy, there was no such thing as spending too much time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Judy loved with her whole heart and was a mom to many. She was a friend to all she met. Those who mentioned even the least passing trouble to her would
receive an immediate offer of help. She will be greatly missed by her many family and friends.
Judy was preceded in death by her loving parents; her brother, Bill; grandchildren Misty and Michael. She is survived by her husband, Ralph; her loving
children, Sherry (Jason) Mendenhall and Jarrett (Arlene) Acklin; grandchildren: Shannon, Amber, Destinee and Justin; great-grandchildren: Logan, Dante,
Cheyenne, Sabin and Deimos; and many nieces and nephews.
