William “Bill” Lee Johnson, 67, of Buckeye, Arizona, formerly of Decatur, IL, passed away at 7:50 p.m., Saturday, April 11, 2015, peacefully in his home with
his wife of 35 happy years by his side.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 20, 2015, at Mt. Gilead Cemetery in Decatur. Tanzyus Logan Funeral Service & Care is in
charge of arrangements.
Bill was born in May of 1947, in Springfield, IL, the son of William G. and Virginia Johnson. In his early years, he enjoyed working on cars. He married Marge
Hedenberg in March of 1980, and they enjoyed 35 loving years together. He worked for Bordens Chemical for 27 years. His greatest joys included fishing,
cooking at the campground and announcing “Let’s eat!”, playing cards, enjoying a drink, riding in his golf cart, and listening to music. He treasured his family
and the time he spent with them, especially his grandchildren.
Along with his loving wife, Marge, Bill is survived by his mother: Virginia Johnson; his children: Lisa and Tom Smith; Billy Johnson; Lori Johnson; Jerry and
Teresa Washburn; Lynn Nelson; ten grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren; his siblings: Carl and Cindy Johnson; Peggy and Scott Saunders; Barbara
and Gary Deathridge; Duke Johnson; Eric and Pam Johnson; Sheila and Ron Atchison; several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, William G. Johnson.
Bill was a wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather and brother, and friend to many. His happy soul will be dearly missed by all.
