Lorenzia Sain, 88, of Decatur, departed this life on Thursday, January 29, 2015, at Springfield’s Memorial Medical Center.
A funeral service celebrating his life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 530 W. Mound Road,
Decatur. Reverend Dr. C.D. Stuart will officiate. Burial will take place in Mt. Gilead Cemetery, Decatur. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of
his service on Tuesday, also in the church. Memorials may be made in his honor to Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service & Care
is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Sain was born in August of 1926, to Boast and Minnie Sain, in Hardeman County, Tennessee. He married Leola Spencer in September of 1946. He was a
member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. He worked and retired from Waggoners Casting Company after 35 years.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years; their five daughters: Ernestine Morris (Stan); Bettie Smith (Ralph); Nopie McEvoy (Patrick); Lorean Fragier (Mac); and
Carol Schmutzler (Don); he was a father to Eugene Childress. He is also survived by one loving brother, Boast Sain (Jeanie); one sister-in-law, Sarah Sain; one
brother-in-law, Hullen Taylor; he was blessed with ten grandchildren; eightteen great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Mr. Sain was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and two brothers, and one great granddaughter.
Lorenzia was the patriarch of our family, and his physical presence will be greatly missed, though he will live on in our hearts forever.
