Bettie Voyles Hampton, 82, of Decatur Illinois passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at
8:30 pm in her home with family by her side.

A service to celebrate Bettie’s life will be at First Christian Church (3350 North
MacArthur Road, Decatur, Illinois)  Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 10:00 am. Visitation will
be 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, June 1, 2018 at the church. Burial will be at Graceland
Cemetery in Decatur, IL. Pastor Tim Revis  officiating. Tanzyus Logan is in charge of
arrangements.

Bettie was born in  February of 1936 in Maroa, Illinois, the daughter of Forest and
Geneiva Reed. She married Robert A. Voyles in November of 1953, who predeceased her
in March of 1982. In June of 1998, she married Kenneth P. Hampton, who survives.

Bettie was an avid baker and loved to cook and bake for her family and friends.
Additionally, she loved to dance and sew.

Most of her business life was spent with two of her sons in the family business, Bob and
Ron’s Repair Service, Decatur, Illinois.

Surviving is her husband, Kenneth of twenty years; three sons: Robert A. Voyles of
Decatur, Illinois, Ronald E. (Josephine Wood) Voyles of Decatur, Illinois, and Richard
W. (Krista) Voyles of Farmer City, Illinois; two step daughters: Paula (Craig) Scobey of
New Madrid, Missouri, Corlis (Tom) Haley of Lewisville, Texas; sister: Carolyn Isaac of
Decatur, Illinois; nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great great
grandchild, and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded by her parents, brother Charles Reed and brother Richard Reed.

The family would like to give a special thanks to DMH Hospice and her wonderful
caregivers, Margie Dove and Mary Beth Hoyland. The family would also like to thank
everyone for their prayers and concerns.
