Richard Joseph (Dick) Murrell, 81 of Decatur, left to be with Jesus November 24, 2017.

Richard was born in July of 1936 in Champaign, Illinois, to John Elbert and Stella L. Murrell of Thomasboro, Illinois.
He married Lois I. Halcomb in August of 1956.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Audrey Irwin, Wilma Ludwig and Loretta Berry and his beloved cat with
nine lives Blackie.

He is survived by his wife Lois, daughters, Shelley R. Wilcoxson (Jim) of Fort Myers, Florida, formerly of Springfield,
Illinois, Lesley R. Albert (Allen) of Decatur, grandchildren, Valerie Dye (Todd) of Fort Myers, Florida, Joseph
Wilcoxson (Adrienne) of Canton, Georgia, Hailey Albert (Joshua) of Decatur, Illinois, and Heather Albert (Nathan) of
Decatur, Illinois,  great grandchildren, Jordan and Fiona Dye and Ava and Oliver Wilcoxson, brothers, Marion Murrell
of Owasso, Oklahoma, and Russell Murrell (Lydia) of Robinson, Illinois, and many nieces and nephews.

Richard was affiliated with Firestone Stores as a manager and Neal Tire Stores as a manager and store owner. He was a
fifty year member of Christ United Methodist Church in Decatur and served as a trustee chairman and chairman of the
men’s group. Richard and Lois were longtime members of Buick Riviera Owners Association and traveled to several
National Shows with their cars.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Christ United Methodist Church. Services to celebrate Dick’s life will
be held 10:00 am Thursday November 30, 2017 at Christ United Methodist Church in Decatur. Visitation will be 5:00
to 7:00 pm Wednesday November 29, 2017 also at the church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Tanzyus-Logan
Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.
