Martha Jane Ooton, 72 of Decatur passed away at her residence Thursday, April 13,
2017 with her family by her side.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 pm Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Heartland Community Church
(3253 N. Brush College Road, Decatur, Illinois 62526). Memorial service will be         
10:00 am Friday at Heartland Church with Pastor Pete Peterson officiating.
Inurnment will follow at Lester Barnett Cemetery. Memorials  in Martha’s honor C/O
Daughter, April Veteto. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the

Martha was born in January of 1945 in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of Walter E. and
Delphean Williams. She married Richard Ooton who preceded her in death  in April of
2009. Martha worked in food service at St. Mary’s Hospital for 41 years. She loved
country music, casino gambling, and Facebook.

Surviving are her daughter, April Veteto, grandchildren, Kayla Veteto and Kelton
Veteto, great grandchildren, Wyatt, Whitley and Wade, sister, Mary Ann West,  
sisters-in-law, June Cullins and Toni Rogers, brothers-in-law, Claude and Mike
Bradshaw, nieces and nephews, Sandy (Bill) Fitzgerrel, Meghan and Rick Mangrum,
Sean Fitzgerrel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother-in-law, Charles West.
The family wishes to express thanks to Dr. Kairouz, Dr. Moore, Cancer Care Center,
the DMH Nurses , the radiation Nurses at St. Mary’s Hospital, Dr. Kola, her Hospice
Nurses and her family and friends.
