Daniel E. Edgecombe, 74 of Oakley died at 8:00 am. Sunday, April 2, 2017 in               
St. Mary’s Hospital with his family by his side.

Funeral service celebrating Daniel’s life will be 11:00 am. Friday, April 7, 2017 at
Salem Baptist Church (2650 Taylorville Road Decatur, IL. 62521). Dr. Jarred
Edgecombe will officiate his father’s service. Visitation will be one hour before the
service on Friday and 5 to 7 pm. Thursday, April 6, 2017 also at the church. Burial will
be in La Place Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Salem Baptist Church.
Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.

Daniel was born in September of 1942 in Decatur son of Don E. and Effie E.
Edgecombe. He graduated from Maroa High School. Daniel served in the U.S. Army
during the Viet Nam War. He worked for A. E. Staley’s for 27 years and retired from
Kelly Construction as a sheet metal mechanic. He was a longtime member of Salem
Baptist Church and served as a Deacon, a Trustee and drove the church bus. Daniel
married Loretta Daily in November of 1964 in Decatur.

Surviving are his wife, Loretta Edgecombe, sons, Dr. Jarred Edgecombe (Heather) of
Pound, WI., Aaron Edgecombe of Oakley, grandchildren, Jordan Edgecombe,  Jessica
Alford, Jeffrey Edgecombe, Austin Yutzy, Morgan Edgecombe, great grandchildren,
Maddox and Elliot Yutzy, brother, Steve Edgecombe, sisters, Sylvia Hanks and Zora

He was preceded in death by his parents.
