Barbara Ellen Ann Marie Calvert, of Decatur, Illinois passed away on Tuesday
December 15, 2015 in her home with her husband by her side.

Funeral Mass celebrating her life will be 12:00 noon Tuesday December 22,
2015 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Decatur, with visitation one hour
before in the church. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Camp Butler
National Cemetery, Springfield, Illinois. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and
Care is in charge of the arrangements.

Barbara was born July 1940 in Springfield, Illinois the daughter of Otto and
Mary Ann Butchek. She attended St. Peter and Paul grade school and Lanphier
High School in Springfield. She later worked for Tolly’s and National Food
Stores in Springfield, and was head checker and bookkeeper at the North Main
Street A&P in Decatur.

Barbara married James Calvert in 1969 in Springfield, and they shared forty-
eight years together, forty-six of them as husband and wife, living in Decatur.

Barbara enjoyed bowling, cooking, shopping and caring for her godchildren,
Andrew and Kelsey, to whom she was “Grandma.” Christmas time was her
favorite time of the year.

She is survived by her husband, James; her siblings, sister,Judith Buckman
(husband Ralph) of Sherman, brother, Michael Maurer of Springfield; sister,
Kathleen McCann (husband Dennis) of Michigan; truly dear to her heart, Ken
and Lisa Smith of Springfield, godchildren, Andrew Haynes of Chicago, Illinois
and Kelsey Haynes of St. Louis, Missouri.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Leonard Maurer and
John Butchek; sister, Mary Margaret Howell.

Anyone who knew Barbara was truly blessed and she will be deeply missed.
